LEGALITY

- Ecstasy is a Schedule I drug under the Controlled Substances Act, meaning it has a high potential for abuse and no current accepted medical use in treatment in the United States, as well as a lack of accepted safety for use under medical supervision.
- The possession, trafficking and sale of ecstasy is a felony in Illinois as it is in other states under federal law.
